A classic gift for Mother's Day - flowers.
I wanted to step up the flower gift a little by adding a solar light.
I love solar lights, don't you? It's like free lighting!
They charge during the day and give light all night. Why not add a little light onto our outdoor flowers, especially for gifts.

I bought this cute crackled glass ball solar light at Walmart. I bought the geranium there also. The beautiful geranium was $11.97 and the glass ball solar light was $4.97.
The geranium was actually a hanging plant but I took off the hangers so that it looks more like a patio plant.

Love it. I know Mom will, too.
Some solar lights I bought..... I finally went with the crackled glass one.
(While in the store one of these crackled glass lights fell out of my cart - I put it in the child seat area and it slipped through and fell on the floor and the glass broke into a million pieces. The garden area guy was nearby and I looked over at him - I knew he saw what happened and I tried to add a little levity to the situation by saying, "Clean up on aisle 3". He did not seem amused.)
Top view... :)
I hope this gives you a good idea for a Mother's Day gift.
Best wishes,

Lovely idea. How much light does it give off in the evening?
ReplyDeleteHi, Jennifer, It is 1 lumen, whatever that means. The light is minimal but it can be seen from the street and if you have one on either side of the door, it will be effective. Thanks for joining the conversation.
DeleteI love putting a solar like in and around flowers. The glow of the light is very appealing at night.

Gosh that's pretty! I've seen the solar lights at Walmart, and just never got any. But your geraniums with the light look so pretty I'm going to have to check them out again. Thanks for the inspiration!
