It's Easter basket-making time! My favorite time. I love making Easter baskets but I wanted to make some "baskets" that are a bit different. My granddaughter is 12 and she is so into everything Pinterest and DIY and so I had these old wooden drawers which I picked up last summer and thought they might work out very well for what I wanted. Believe it or not I actually took old drawers from broken bureaus on the side of the road. I did a blog post on Ways to Repurpose Old Drawers but this is the first time I actually DID something with one.
Here is the BEFORE picture of the drawer. It was taken from a dark pine bureau and had these small drawers on the top. I painted it white and then distressed it a little. I don't like things very distressed although I know it is quite popular. I like things lightly distressed.
A little bit of paint goes a long way to improve the looks of anything, don't you think?
Isn't he cute? Here's a ceramic bunny I take out each year.
I filled it with some cute things like a tiny bunny and a tissue paper flower. I'll have to add an ICard to this basket, too. :)
Her room is blue so I know she'll love the tissue paper flower. I did a post on those last week called How to Create Your Own Tissue Paper Wall Art and I now have lots and lots of all different colors of tissue paper now. Now I have tissue paper to wrap gifts in, too!
This was a lot more fun and creative to do than just fill an Easter basket. What do you think?
Happy Spring, everyone!!!
Linda it's Adorable!! I Love it.Smiles.Cindy
