Last year I painted the windows and put the bottom part together. Here I am putting on the corner metal pieces. At the same time, the ducks were in their temporary cage on the deck and the raised beds were being filled with dirt.
I used 8 of these corner iron braces (bought from Home Depot) to hold the 4 bottom windows together.
I procrastinated all winter and then some of the window glazing fell out so I need to replace and repair the windows a little. So FINALLY I asked Michael, nephew, to put it together. This is how the little window house looked a month ago.
Michael used 3 inch screws and screwed the top windows together at the top. He also screwed the top windows to the bottom windows with 3 inch screws and it was finally finished.
I think I’m going to decorate the little house for the seasons and the holidays so here is what I did for Autumn. I put a small bale of hay inside with some pumpkins. It looks so darn cute!!
Happy Autumn, everyone!
What a cute way to recycle, these are useful and pretty ♥
ReplyDeleteI want to change the "decor" of the little house by seasons and holidays. It will be fun!! Thanks, Linda
DeleteIf you put hinges and a clasp on one of the bottom windows that has an open space above, you will be able to open it like a door and change the plants and decorations inside easier. Attach the braces from the adjoining windows to the top window, instead of the 'door'.
DeleteI want to make one, now! Thank you for showing how easy it was!
ReplyDeleteYep, it only took a whole year for me to attach the top to the bottom! procrastination! It could have been done in a few days. Oh, well, at least it's finished now. Thanks, Linda
DeleteLove it ... I have always wanted to build one. I had enough windows, but sold them. Looks great and you did an good job.

DeleteBeautiful! I saw this over at Brambleberry Cottage and have wanted to make one ever since - maybe this weekend! I love how you have the pumpkins in it!
ReplyDeleteJoAnn
Hi, JoAnn, I saw them at another site also. They showed how to use the metal angle brackets to attach the windows together. It made it so easy to put together. I thought the two top windows would be a problem but my nephew came in and just used long screws to attach them together and to the base. Easy. Easy. Good luck with yours. Linda
DeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! My favorite, of course, is the one with the pumpkins. :)
