Last year I made some fast and easy fleece items
to make for Christmas gifts. This year I looked around to see what else I could make. Here are some fun and functional things that are quick to put together and fun also.
If you don't get them done by Christmas, so what? The winter is just beginning and January is pretty cold here in Connecticut.
HAVE FUN!!!

HAVE FUN!!!
First of all, let me say I LOVE working with fleece. You don't have to worry about raveling because fleece doesn't ravel. It's a nice weight also to sew with on the sewing machine or even by hand. It's a forgiving fabric so you can make mistakes and they don't show as much as a mistake on a thinner fabric.
There are scads and scads of different patterns and colors of fleece. Fun!
Here are lots and lots of fun fleece projects that make great gifts also.
CAPES
Here is my granddaughter
modeling the cape I made her.
Mommy Savers did a tutorial
on how to make a poncho. Same
thing. Actually, that's how I started
mine but ended up rounding
the corners off so it's more
like a cape.
This is so EASY and if
you wait for a sale at Joann's
it's very cost effective.
No sew cape from Ruffles and Stuff.
HEATING PADS
Slipper Socks
In the same post I showed my socklet slippers. I've made lots and lots of these because they are so EASY to make. I know you don't believe me, but if you can use a sewing machine marginally, you can make dozens of these. I made everyone a pair one Christmas.
I found a tutorial for these on the web at Thrifty Fun and it is exactly how I make them.
SCARVES
I made this pretty fleece scarf just
by buying the fleece at Joann's, about
1/4 yard or 1/3 yard. Then just
trimming it evenly.
You can make dozens of these in
no time at all... wait for a 50 or even 60 % sale at Joann's and they will be having some great sales, especially black Friday. :)
Madigan Made has a tutorial on how to make a cowl scarf.
Write It Down shows how to make this two toned scarf.

ELF SLIPPERS
Maya Made made these elf slippers out of felted wood but I don't see why they couldn't be made out of fleece. Full instructions on how to make them.

You have to see this to believe it. It's a whole city of little cages and boxes all set up for guinea pigs. Fleece is used to cozy them up. This girl has complete tutorials for each item. So darn CUTE!!

Hi Linda! I love sewing with fleece, too! I've made several long cloaks that were so easy, with just a few seams and no hems of any kind. Thanks for all the great links.
