Tiny Pies Made in Mason Jar Lids

Making Pies in Mason Jar Lids!!

This was so much fun and everyone loved them! Everyone thought it was so much fun to have your own little pie, just the right size. Easy, fun. Those are the 2 requirements... lol.

Another little "apple" recipe I did was baking an
apple pie in an apple. That turned out pretty cute, too I think you'll like that one too.

One reason that it was so easy? Refrigerated pie crust!

Another reason? Canned pie filling.

Here they are: tiny pies made in Mason Jar lids...

They almost look like little faces.

Here are the ingredients.

refrigerated pie crusts
mason jar lids (wide mouth)
canned blueberry pie filling
canned apple pie filling

The first thing to do is turn the inside lid upside down so that the rubber seal is on the underside and then spray the little mason jar lids with Pam or rub a little oil on them.

I rolled out the pie crusts so that they were nice and thin. Then I chose a bowl that was a few inches bigger than the lids to use as a cookie cutter to cut out the circles of pie crust.

The picture I show below is crimped already for the apple pies with the crumb crust. I didn't crimp the pies that would get a top crust. Those get crimped when the top crust goes on.

Here is the correct way to get the bottom crust ready for the top crust.

When you put the first pie crust over the little lid leave about an inch all around. When you add the top crust you fold them and turn them under but still on top of the edge of the pie pan. Then crimp around the whole edge.

I made some of the apple pies with a crumb crust . My family loves the crumb topping. I do, too.

I brushed the tops of the pies with milk - it helps make a nice toasty looking crust.

I baked them for about 20 -25 minutes at 425 on a cookie sheet.

This is a small plate and the little pie fits just right!!

Best wishes for a wonderful Fall season, everyone!!
