"Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings." This is a quote from the classic movie, "It's a Wonderful Life" and is one of my favorite quotes from the movie.

My friend, Theresa, from Shoestring Elegance, and I came up with several quotes from the movie one day. We had a fun conversation about all the different quotes we could remember from the movie. 

I wanted to make an ornament for our Christmas tree that embodied the quote about a bell ringing and angel getting his wings. Here it is

2. I know what I'm going to do tomorrow  and the next day and the next year and the year after that.

3.  What is it that you want, Mary? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down.

4. George lassos moon!

5. Hee Haw!!

6. Why don't you just kiss the girl? Oh, youth is wasted on the wrong people.

12. Way to go, Clarence. (When a bell rings at the end of the movie indicating that another angel just got his wings and Clarence was looking to get his wings during the whole movie!"

While writing this post my son and daughter and I went all over the different quotes and scenes from the movie. Wow. That was fun, too.

I ordered bells like this.

Then I spray painted some of them pink and some of them chalk white. When they were dry I covered them with a light coat of Mod Podge and sprinkled them with glitter. Some I left without glitter, too.

I made angel wings from white coffee filters. I pressed the filters flat then cut out the shape of wings like a heart about 2 inches long. You have to also cut out the bottom of the heart as seen in the picture. I used 2 or 3 of the angel wings together to give a light and airy look to them. I covered them with light Mod Podge and glitter also. I put a hole in them so they could be hung up.

Finally, I needed to make the print outs of the actual saying, "Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings."

I used PicMonkey to do this. I highlighted Bell and Angel and used a different font for Bell.  If I could find the file I'd put it down here but I'm not that organized. lol
